Needed: League Commissioners

SEYSBA needs to fill several commissioner roles that have opened up the past few years. SEYSBA has lost a few commissioners as their children aged have graduated high school.

New commissioners will learn from experienced board members who will make sure they get proper onboarding.  There are openings for both hardball and softball.  SEYSBA will waive registration fees for two children of league commissioners.

We've already added one new commissioner this offseason and hope to have one commissioner for each league.   Success for SEYSBA is directly tied to parent participation.  You do not need to be an expert on baseball to thrive as a league commissioner.  You do not need to have a child playing.  THESE ARE GREAT ROLES FOR RETIREES and EMPTY NESTERS.

Commissioner/Board duties include:
- Attend the SEYSBA Board meetings - we hold just a few of these each off-season.
- Reply to general e-mails for your league from parents/guardians.
- Identify, solicit and finalize coaches for their league.  We attempt to have balanced teams but this is sometimes not possible.
- Finalize practice schedules and ensure teams are practicing appropriately.
- Hold a managers meeting before the season.
- Assist with jersey distribution on Photo Day.  Get photos to each manager quickly after SEYSBA gets them from the vendor.
- Distribute equipment to managers.  Get the equipment back after the season.
- Work with our partners in neighboring cities to form a schedule.  Get the agreed-upon rules to our managers.
- Work with SEYSBA commissioners and umpire liaison to secure our umpires.
- Communicate rainouts and get managers to set make-ups (for applicable leagues)
- Be visible.  Check in on teams during games during the season.
- Connect with a few of our sponsors as needed.
- Help identify best candidates for coaching fall-ball at this age level.
